About Us
Est. 2008 · Shoreline, Seattle
Buddha Jewel Monastery was formally established in September 2008 in Shoreline, Seattle, as the local dharma center of Chung Tai Chan Monastery. After a decade of devoted practice, the time was ripe — and the monastery opened its doors, carrying forward the Master's spirit of compassionate, egalitarian teaching.
The monastery upholds Chung Tai's founding vision: that people of all genders, races, backgrounds, and ages can experience true spiritual freedom and dharmic joy. It serves both English- and Chinese-speaking communities across Seattle and the greater Pacific Northwest.
